If you have a dog and you are wondering whether to take it along with you on your trip to Margaret River Wine Region, well, you can. Many wineries and food venues will let you bring your dog. This is a good thing considering the fact that most people will like to take their dogs with them on a family trip. The most important thing when going with your dog is to make sure they are on a leash and don’t go beyond the beer gardens and outdoor areas.
While many places are dog friendly and will allow you to bring your pooch with you, don’t hesitate to ask if you are not sure about the dog policy of any particular place. Our guides are available to help you clarify before you plan the trip.
That said, there are breweries and wineries which are considered to be very dog friendly and here are some of them.
Hay Shed Hill Wines and Rustico
This is a great place for wine tasting and a good lunch. Rustico is a restaurant operation that specialises in Spanish cuisine, and this is what you will get when you visit the place. Dogs are allowed, but they can only stay outdoors and must be on a leash, so you have to consider this while buying lunch. If you will be eating there, an outdoor table is best so you can be with your dog.
This is located at the top of the hill overlooking Geographe bay. It is owned and operated by a family and allows dogs which must be on a leash. Happs is a great place to build your own picnic hamper and enjoy a great time in nature with your family and dog.
Brewhouse Margaret River
This is one of the newest breweries in the region, and dogs are very welcome here. The outdoor seating space is sufficient enough for families to enjoy local delicacies and beers while their dogs stay with them.
Cheeky Monkey Brewery & Cidery
This place has a wide playground that kids would find enjoyable. The playground is fully fenced to ensure safety and the food here is great. You get to enjoy pizzas, chips and fish, salads, and lots more. Their craft beer is also something to die for, and you can enjoy your meal and beer while accompanied by your dog on a leash. Sitting outdoors also gives you the chance to watch the lake.
